Disability and Access Policy

Disability Access – The Chorley Surgery

Patients with a disability are advised to telephone the practice on 01257 513970 on arrival outside of the building if they require any assistance in accessing the building or its services.

Parking

We do have 28 general parking spaces on the Surgery car park located at the back of the building and disabled parking is also available in designated areas at the front of the Surgery on Gillibrand Street.

Entry to Building

Access into The Chorley Surgery has dropped curbs for easier access and we also have a small ramp at the entrance to the surgery.  Disable access doors are in use on arrival and once in the surgery to access the waiting room, these are worked by a push pad mechanism.

Toilets

We have disabled toilets to the right of the waiting room clearly identified with a sign on the door.

Waiting Room Seating

In our waiting room we have two high backed winged chairs to assist with standing or sitting.

Hearing: Induction Loop

At reception  Induction Loop signs are clearly displayed; please inform reception if you wish to use this facility.

Visually Impaired

With sufficient notice we can offer information in different formats for example, large print, braille, easy read or via email.
